Bought as I wanted a webcam that could cope with bright light on 1 side due to window and reading Microsoft's facts this seemed the top 1 to do the job and yes I am not disappointed as it offers a highly even level of brightness without a "whiteout" of the side near the window, also even although skype is not widescreen compared to my old webcam it offers a wider image.
I have under no circumstances utilised a computer system camera just before so the camera and what it came with was all I know. Now for what I do know is when I open the box this camera has a base that can be formed to be position exactly where you like such as on major of a desktop's monitor. The computer is connected to your pc by a USB connection and the computer software is plug and play. Never having utilized a Net Cam just before this was up and running in no time.
As too top quality I have absolutely nothing to compare it with but those I spoke with said they could hear me fine, I looked naturally lit and they liked the fact they could see my surroundings or when someone was beside me. Also note I did not make any recordings with it so can not comment on that portion and this rating is for this product as a video communication device. So for a novice and to begin with time user I can very advise this product.
